Mainstage Center for the Arts Sets the Dates for its Annual Holiday Concert & Family Festival

Get in the Holiday Mood with Mainstage's Holiday Concert & Family Festival

Mainstage Center for the Arts' Holiday Concert & Family Festival on December 21 and 22 is a treat for the entire family to enjoy! It comes complete with hot chocolate, a visit with Santa, and a joyful holiday concert featuring Mainstage Center for the Arts’ professionally-staged and choreographed show choirs, Harmony and Encore; its School of Dance, and performers from the Mainstage Performing Arts Academy. 

The concert begins at 7:00 p.m., December 21, and 2 p.m., December 22, in Lincoln Hall and the Dennis Flyer Theater, Camden County College, Blackwood, NJ. Doors will open for festival activities one hour before each show time. Tickets are $16 for adults and $13 for children under 12/senior citizens.  For nominal additional fees, those attending can participate in an ornament-making station, holiday games, and a cookie fundraiser to benefit Harmony and Encore Show Choirs.

“We love providing the community with this opportunity to enjoy the holidays and take a break from the hustle and bustle. Everything from the joyful music, to the decorations, to our friendly Mainstage elves, get you into the spirit of the season,” said Anne Marie Weaver, MCA director of Special Projects.

Blackwood – Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird soared to the top of the bestseller’s list upon its 1960 release with its groundbreaking portrayal of racial injustice. Grace Szczepkowski in rehearsal with CHICAGO cast The long-running hit musical  Chicago   (High School Edition)  will be presented by Mainstage Center for the Arts at the Dennis Flyer Theatre on the Blackwood campus of Camden County College on November 16 and 17.  Chicago  has been presented on Broadway for over 9,107 performances since the revival opened in 1996, and won six Tony awards, including  Best Revival of a Musical . The original production, directed and choreographed by the legendary Bob Fosse, opened in June of 1975 and was nominated for nine Tony awards. Billed as “a musical vaudeville,”   Chicago  is based on a play by the same name written in 1926 by Maurine Dallas Watkins. It tells the story of Roxie Hart, who finds herself on Murderer’s Row in the Cook County Jail after shooting her lover.
